General Information

Annual Leave
For most IMT trainees if you have worked in the NHS for less than 5 years you are entitled to 27 days of annual leave. We encourage you to spread this across this year by taking 9 days per 4-month rotation. If you have not taken your 9 days within the rotation you will not be able to carry it over unless there are extenuating circumstances.

If you have worked in the NHS for greater than 5 years you are entitled for 32 days of annual leave.

For IMT3s we expect your annual leave to be spread equally across the two 6-month blocks.

If you work on a bank holiday, if your zero day falls on a bank holiday or you take study leave on a zero day you are entitled to a day off in lieu.

While on your speciality block annual leave requests must be approved by the local department.

While on acute medicine annual leave can be taken when you are not on-call. Please email your annual leave dates to the medical rota team and to Dr Murthy (narasimha.murthy@uhcw.nhs.uk).

Please note if you would like to take annual leave when you are rota’d to be on call, it is your responsibility to swap your on call and organise cover. If you do not, you will not be able to take annual leave on these dates.

Supervisors
You will have 1 set of supervisors across the IMT1/2 and IMT3 programmes (subject to change for those > 12 months).

Supervisors (may be a single or dual ES/CS) will be allocated from your specialty based. Your CS will change on every rotation.

Any questions or problems please email us, please confirm in the next 2 weeks.

    Bleeps
Everyone should have a bleep (obtain from speciality if starting on speciality block), and this should be communicated to switchboard so you can be contacted internally.
