IMT 1 and 2 teaching will be every Wednesday at 2-5pm. This is protected time and you should be free of clinical duties to attend this unless you are on call. If you are on call teaching attendance is at the discretion of the consultant/registrar depending on how busy it is and patient safety.
If there is no scheduled teaching, then this is still your protected hours and we encourage self-development activities in the form of:
- Seeing patients for paces
HEWM will arrange IMT 3 teaching days, normally accessed via your PGVLE account. This should have been created for you by HEWM. You can login at www.pgvle.co.uk. Jenny Ward (jenny.ward@rcp.ac.uk) will email information for attending monthly GIM specialty afternoon (2-5pm) teaching sessions.

Study Leave
You are eligible for 30 days. Study leave is applied online through Tracker.
For IMT 3, five days are taken off the 30-day allowance for regional teaching
Process?
Our current system has two prongs to it - the first is the IT system TRACKER on which you register your request for study leave and via which you get approval from your Ed Supervisor and Rota manager for the leave and then from the Clinical Tutor for the funding. If you need a tracker access setting up please contact webmaster@mededcoventry.com.
Then you need to pay for the course, collect your receipts and complete a paper-based form (attached which you take to the Medical Ed office - ground floor CSB behind main reception). Our department review and approve the claim form and send it to Finance and they then reimburse you via payroll and as a Trust we reclaim the money from HEEWM.
There is no financial limit to what you can claim but this is monitored by the approval system i.e. you can only undertake courses appropriate for your training needs.
